Overview

As a Manager in ProSight’s fast paced and dynamic Claims Department you are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to resolving challenges on a variety of levels. You are an expert in your field with the ability to provide guidance to your unit in line with ProSight’s claim and overall business strategy.  You are a confidant communicator who can collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure we always put our best foot forward.  You’re a highly organized individual as you oversee the handling of multiple unique programs.  Because of this you are constantly in sync with all functions in your unit and can articulate and make suggestions regarding procedures and future decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Hire quality staff as outlined in staffing plans and agreed upon with Claims leadership
  • Construct goals and development plans that are consistent with the corporate plan
  • Set objectives for direct reports and proactively manage their performance throughout the year
  • Responsible for managing proactive and aggressive resolution strategies for claims in legacy portfolios and discontinued books of business
  • Manage the legal bill audit team and Legal X vendor relationship
  • Promptly identifies claims and legal matters that may be candidates for the claims watch list
  • Analyze claims vendor and legal data and communicate with members of other departments to discuss trends and observations
  • Measure and analyze invoice volume and productivity on scheduled intervals and share observations and trends with the team and senior management
  • Understand legal services necessary for a variety of product lines
  • Stay current with legal trends, regulations and court rulings pertaining to legal invoice reviews
  • Exercise effective problem solving and influencing skills and provide innovative solutions to improve competitive advantage (including process re-engineering, intelligent automation, and service excellence)
  • Meet with members of other departments to discuss claims program performance, specific claim details and general claims run-off updates
  • Create both ad-hoc analyses and standardized reports across a variety of platforms
  • Design a full vendor management program for all claim vendor relationships, including agreements, guidelines and expenses
  • Develops creative processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiencies and optimal results
  • Works with the Claims Vice President and Chief Claims Officer on special projects as needed
  • May be called upon to perform other tasks and duties within the claims department as dictated by business needs

Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant management experience in an insurance environment required
  • 5 years experience in a run-off environment required
  • 5 years experience in a vendor management, supply management or procurement function required
  • Strong litigation management skills required
  • Four year college degree required
  • Project management and RFP experience preferred (lead role in RFP process is desired)
