Looking for a qualified enthusiastic candidate to join our Insurance Operations team to ensure all gross insurance transactions are recorded completely, accurately and timely within the general ledger and to assist in building a monthly analysis package for Senior Management.  Additional core responsibilities include the preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations and ad hoc analytical review of procedures. On an ongoing basis, this team member will document procedures and controls and participate in various projects.


  • Partner with team members to learn and understand the Company’s business and workflows
  • Learn and effectively utilize the Company’s insurance systems to obtain data necessary for financial accounting, reporting and analysis
  • Process monthly journal entries and perform bank reconciliations
  • Assist with the design, execution and improvement of financial controls (e.g., general ledger account reconciliations) and analytical review procedures
  • Research gross transactional data to analyze drivers of results and trends (e.g., premiums, commissions, losses and reserves)
  • Process and analyze business related to the Company’s UK Syndicate
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Actuarial, Reinsurance, Premium Accounting, etc.) to complete various ad hoc projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively either independently or within a group, and to communicate proactively and clearly both verbally and in writing with team members and Management.


  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience, including financial reporting (GAAP & STAT) and/or auditing
  • Working knowledge of insurance concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Familiarity with MS Access
  • Proactive, pragmatic, detail-oriented problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, growth-oriented environment
