    • Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles including accounting for and disclosing all balance sheet, income statement and cash flow transactions in accordance with the NAIC and NY State statutory accounting principles and regulations
    • Assist in the preparation of Annual and quarterly Statutory financial statements
    • Prepare various pages and schedules; coordinate submissions of other pages and schedules from team for annual & quarterly statements
    • Work closely with the Actuarial staff for the completion of Schedule P and quarterly statutory development
    • Work closely with Legal and Compliance departments on various projects, data calls and filings.
    • Assist with the preparation of the Combined Statutory Annual Statement, Management Discussion & Analysis and Insurance Expense Exhibits
    • Assist with the preparation of the Audited Statutory financial statements
    • Responsible for filing with the state insurance departments for the quarterly & annual statements
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual New York Supplement
    • Assist with the state examiners and external auditors while conducting the exam(s)/audits
    • Responsible for maintenance of General Ledgers
    • Prepare monthly journal entries
    • Reconcile various general ledger accounts


    • BA/ BS degree with a Major in Accounting. CPA preferred.
    • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
    • Professional communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with various levels of management.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.
    • Ability to multi-task and flexibility to work effectively in a team oriented and fast paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and sense of urgency
