    ProSight’s Actuarial department works with internal customers across a wide range of all lines of business, helping them to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into unique and complex problem solving.  As an Actuarial Assistant at ProSight you will draw upon your strong analytical problem solving skills to analyze data while executing against strategy and benchmarks. A key emphasis for the recruitment of ProSight’s Actuarial Assistant is to find an individual who can provide a strong degree of technical actuarial acumen while adding to the unique PSI culture.


    • Perform quarterly reserve evaluations, including reconciliations of source system data to Finance
    • Support the quarterly reserve evaluations; present and explain results to line manager
    • Analyze historical internal data to determine adequate reserving levels for a variety of insurance reserving groups and their underlying programs; incorporating appropriate external data as needed
    • Work as a member of a broader team (including Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, Reinsurance, Claims, IT, and Operations) to insure that all key information flows through the reserving process
    • Actively participate in the development and implementation of ProSight’s global reserving models and processes
    • Interact actively and constructively with pricing counter parts to insure that key reserve outputs are clearly communicated as building blocks to program reviews
    • Solve complex problems and develop innovative approaches to work products
    • Develop Excel-based tools to streamline business processes and workflows
    • Various ad hoc reserving tasks including evaluating new reserving techniques for viability


    • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
    • Effective documentation skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Advanced M.S. Excel and Word skills
    • Programming knowledge (SAS, Access, VBA, SQL or others) is a plus. 
    • Ability to distill complex concepts into simpler examples in order to communicate to non-technical business partners
