    The Value Creation Executive role is responsible for the differentiation, innovation, expansion and profit of multiple niches, with the ultimate objective being to accomplish these things while delivering value to our customers.  This will require you to think big strategically, determine measurable niche goals and objectives, create strong relationships with distribution, lead a team to successful outcomes, understand ProSight’s appetite and be an expert on the changing landscape of the industries and customer needs within your Niche. 

    Responsibilities

    Niches Served: New York General Construction, Specialty Trade Contractors, and Builders Risk

     

    Role Specific Qualifications

    • Minimum of 7 years underwriting experience
    • Experience in management of underwriting or UA staff
    • Experience with NY labor law and or action-over exposures
    • An underwriting background in General Liability and or Excess Liability for construction risks

     

    Responsibilities:  As will be measured by specific metrics associated with each of the bullets below

     

    • Niche Management + Expansion
      • You will be responsible for profitably expanding your niche in every way feasible, consistent with achieving the niche’s True North
        • Determine optimal distribution strategy to achieve True North.  Manage and expand (when necessary) distribution relationships to ensure achievement of the True North 
        • Work with distribution to ensure customer expansion, the achievement of production goals, identification & creation of differentiators and other commitments are being met
        • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers, including but not limited to affinity relationships, social media, digital marketing, traditional business development, etc.
        • Determine and execute against your niche customer visitation expectations.
        • Represent PSI as the leader for niche specific distributors/third parties/associations
      • You will be responsible for differentiating your niche in every way feasible, validated by customer/distributor survey responses, where applicable
        • Regularly identify, develop and introduce new coverage, service or 3rd party solution differentiators that are valued by customers
        • Create and maintain a competitive advantage as compared to our competitors that our customers are willing to pay for
        • Determine, develop and execute strategies to ensure that our differentiation is well understood by our customers
        • Validate that our differentiation exists and is valued for each of your niches
        • Aim to elicit emotional responses from your customers and distribution partners 
      • You will be responsible for the Niche P&L as defined by the financial plan
        • Execution of the annual premium, profit and expense results of the niche
        • You will work with Actuarial team to determine annual pricing targets for each niche
        • For your assigned niches, act as the lead referral UW and consistently demonstrate niche specific UW expertise, with the intent to garner the highest level of field UW authority possible
        • Explore all alternatives to maximize the financial performance of your niches, including but not limited to reinsurance, expense and loss ratio improvement alternatives 
        • Lead monthly AvP and annual niche review sessions for your niches to ensure execution is aligned with achieving the annual plan

     

     

    • Leadership and management of staff associated with the niche
      • You will be responsible for the team associated with your niche and their ability to achieve successful outcomes. 
      • You will need to ensure that staff capabilities exist to accomplish annual and long-term niche objectives.
      • You will be responsible for training, interviewing and hiring (in accordance with PSI expense plan) as needed.
      • You will be responsible for the development of the individuals on your teams, through your demonstrated leadership and commitment to the ProSight climber characteristics.
    • Work in Partnership with HO Underwriting, Marketing, our National Sales Team & ProSight Brokerage to collaborate on niche specific initiatives, objectives and execution items that are focused on growth and profit.  Consult with and support HO department efforts related to your niches, as needed

    • You are experienced in progressively responsible underwriting positions with P&L responsibilities.
    • You have a technical expertise in the products, forms and coverage’s associated with the niche.
    • You have proven success in production, sales and distribution management
    • You have a basic understanding of ISO rules, rates, forms and filings
