  • Overview

    Underwriting position responsible for supporting ProSight’s Oil and Gas Contractors Program.  The successful candidate will exhibit demonstrated leadership qualities and a commitment to ProSight‘s cultural characteristics. Additionally, they will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills to effectively promote and position our business model, products and services. The position requires a multi-line discipline with specialization in Oil and Gas industry exposures.

     

    The following expectations exist for the role:

    • Execution of annual premium, profit and expense for the particular segment
    • Leadership and management of existing program
    • Management of distributor relationships associated with the above
    • Product, filing and differentiation development of the segment
    • Strategic, long-term planning and innovation of the segment

    Responsibilities

    • Develop MGA strategies to accomplish annual and long-term program plans.
    • Achieve premium, profit and expense targets
    • Ensure the execution of the annual business plan for each assigned program in a compliant, rate adequate and differentiated manner
    • Work with the Actuarial team to determine annual pricing targets and to determine trends within the Oil and Gas Contractors Program.
    • Work with home office underwriting team to build/develop product and associated filings, as necessary
    • Works with the Claims team to best understand trends within the program and to process and service improvements.
    • Directly manage the program underwriting for the customer segment
    • Provide overflow direct underwriting for other programs, as necessary
    • Identify new markets in support of annual and long-term Niche objectives
    • Travel is required and may be up to 15% of the time

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 5-10 years’ experience Property & Casualty underwriting commercial lines
    • Strong customer-oriented product management skills
    • Experience with agile development practices
    • Superior communication and organizational skills
    • Strong project and people management skills
    • Must be able to identify exposures and hazards and willingness to learn
    • Ability to distill complex concepts into simpler examples in order to communicate to non-technical
    • CPCU or ARM preferred
