  • Overview

    Business Development position responsible for driving new business development for open brokerage segments by executing on Franchise Broker and Segment Broker Specialist segmentation, development of new segments within existing niches or new niches and being a market advocate for all ProSight segments.  Person will exhibit demonstrated sales/marketing qualities and a commitment to ProSight’s cultural characteristics. This person will have 5-7 years of experience in the Commercial Insurance space working with independent agents and brokers, and a proven ability to sell highly differentiated products to agents and clients. The following expectations exist for the role:

    • Execution of annual new business and retention targets for all assigned agents
    • Deep understanding of existing PSI segments and staff associated with each
    • Management of all assigned retail agents associated with the above
    • Development of new relationships for each existing segment
    • Support and execute new strategies for new segments being released
    • Strategic, long-term planning and innovation of the business
    • Frequent travel to existing and new retail agency partners as well as other production sources for new segments


    • Execute on Franchise Broker and Segment Broker Specialist Segmentation
      • Manage and grow written premium for assigned territory
      • Aggressively manage Franchise Brokers and Segment Broker Specialist for assigned territory
      • Make a minimum of one monthly visit to each Franchise Broker and visit PBSs on an as needed basis but a minimum of once a quarter
      • Develop, execute, and monitor Annual Business Plans for each Franchise Broker and Segment Broker Specialists in assigned territory
      • Complete quarterly performance to plans with each assigned agent
    • Market Advocate for All ProSight Segments
      • Develop a minimum of five leads for closed segments per quarter
      • Develop relationships with PSI Segment Executives with existing segments in your assigned territory to better promote success of these segments


    • 5-7 years of experience in the Commercial Insurance industry
    • Marketing and/or Business degree would be ideal
    • Confident, energetic, strong interpersonal skills
    • Self-motivated & self-disciplined with good agenda control instincts
    • Excellent telephone and written communication skills
    • Sense of urgency and ownership
    • Project management skills with good follow up practices
    • Trust, confidence builder
    • Knowledge of ProSight’s insurance products 
    • Team-oriented individual with positive attitude
    • High degree of proficiency with computers and technology
    • Ability to solve problems and implement solutions proactively
