    As a Manager in ProSight’s fast paced and dynamic Claims Department you are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to resolving claims matters on a variety of levels. You are an expert in your field with the ability to provide guidance to your unit in line with ProSight’s claim and overall business strategy.  You are a confidant communicator who can collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure we always put our best foot forward.  You’re a highly organized individual as you oversee the handling of multiple unique programs.  Because of this you are constantly in sync with all matters in your unit and can articulate and make suggestions regarding procedures and future decisions.    

    Responsibilities

    • Hires qualified staff as dictated by claims volume and activity
    • Sets objectives for all employees and manages their performance throughout the year
    • Reviews new losses, evaluates coverage, assigns to appropriate staff, monitors ongoing handling for prompt quality investigation, timely and accurate reserving and claim resolution
    • Becomes directly involved in claims handling on higher severity cases, travels to participate in mediations, attend settlement conferences and trials as needed
    • Maintains a diary system for claims assigned within their unit in order to ensure claim handling and customer service meet acceptable standards
    • Promptly identifies claims that are candidates for the claims watch list
    • Works with staff to ensure timely and high quality completion of large claim reports
    • Meets with staff members constantly to discuss claim handling and performance
    • Meets with and stays in close contact with brokers and insureds as business dictates to make sure we are delivering quality claims service, and tailoring our approach to claims handling to meet the needs of all customers
    • Works closely with the Customer Service unit to ensure efficient claims support work flow and high quality service
    • Meets with members of other departments to discuss specific claim details or general claims issues
    • May be designated as a claims contact for key accounts and programs in which the Manager will perform various account or program management tasks including:
      • Preparing for and attending claim reviews
      • Analyzing claims data and meeting with members of other departments to discuss the account status
      • Meeting with and making presentations to account or program representatives
    • Develops creative processes and procedures as dictated by new business opportunities
    • Works with the Regional Claims Vice President and Chief Claims Officer on special projects as needed
    • May be called upon to perform other tasks and duties within the claims department as dictated by business needs

    Qualifications

    • Eight or more years of experience in handling commercial claims in multiple jurisdictions
    • Some management experience preferred
    • Four year college degree preferred
